After Gov. O’Malley announced his budget proposal last week, we knew the Republicans would waste no time in attacking it — ignoring that it embodies the kind of fiscal responsibility their own party claims to stand for.

Constructive criticism is all well and good. But Republicans’ attacks on Gov. O’Malley’s budget are motivated by partisan ambition and are altogether uninformed.
